Swedish Massage (Back to Top)

Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.  Enjoy a relaxing Swedish massage therapy session in our beautiful downtown Sarasota office today!

Deep Tissue Massage (Back to Top)

Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body.  Deep Tissue Massage Therapy is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries.  Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don’t get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.

Neuromuscular Therapy (Back to Top)

Neuromuscular Therapy is a technique used primarily for injury rehabilitation work.  The therapist works in a focused manner in a specific area, trying to reduce muscular tension and break up adhesions and scar tissue on a deeper level.  Elements of myofascial release, cross-fiber friction, and trigger point therapy are also used along with hydrotherapy (the use of ice or heat).  This type of therapy has been known to diminish migraine pain, sciatica pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, and other pain symptoms.

Bamboo-Fusion™ (

Bamboo-Fusion is a massage performed using a combination of Swedish/deep tissue massage therapy techniques and warm pieces of bamboo. This treatment will bring you to an extreme sense of relaxation using soothing and therapeutic massage therapy strokes.  In order to advertise Bamboo-fusion as a modality, practitioners are required to have taken a 14 hour certification course from the creator of Bamboo-fusion, Nathalie Cecelia, LMT.  We are proud to offer this amazing modality at Abundant Life Massage.

Raindrop Technique (Back to Top)

Raindrop Technique combines the science of aromatherapy with the techniques of Vita Flex and massage therapy in the application of Young Living Essential Oils, which are applied on the back, drop by drop (like raindrops) and on the feet to bring structural and electrical alignment.  It is designed to bring balance to the body with its relaxing, mild application and is reported to help align and clear the energy centers of the body without using force or excessive pressure.  The oils used in this treatment are: Valor, Thyme, Oregano, Wintergreen, Cypress, Peppermint, Basil, and Marjoram.

Hot/Cold Stone Massage (Back to Top)

Stone Massage is a type of bodywork that uses deep penetrating heat and/or alternating cold from specialized stones.  The stones are both placed on the body and used in the aid of a full body massage. The physiological benefits of alternating hot and cold to the body have long been scientifically and medically proven. Stone Massage delivers a profound expansion and contraction inside your circulatory system, improving the function of your lymphatic and immune systems, and enhancing your body’s self-healing mechanisms.  This style of bodywork takes you into deep states of relaxation, releasing stress and anxiety, detoxifying the body, and balancing your nervous system.

Massage for Athletes (Back to Top)

Massage for Athletes is a type of massage therapy designed for highly active people who engage in athletics at a professional level or as a weekend-warrior.  Engaging in sports is harsh on the body and can often lead to injuries in both the short and long term.  Massage for Athletes enhances performance and prolongs a sports career by helping to prevent injury, reduce pains and swelling in the body, relax the mind, increase flexibility, and dramatically improve recovery rates.  Massage for Athletes is also highly effective in aiding the rapid recovery of an athlete from an injury by encouraging greater kinesthetic awareness and in turn promoting the body’s natural immune function.

Pregnancy Massage (Back to Top)

Pregnancy Massage is a form of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women.  Pregnancy is a time in which a woman’s body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical, mental, and emotional changes.

Using various techniques specifically for the new mother, Pregnancy or Prenatal Massage helps alleviate discomforts experienced throughout the pregnancy.  The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the reduction of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, improved breathing and relaxation, and relief from uncomfortable digestive issues.

Oncology Massage (Back to Top)

Oncology Massage is a very specialized treatment designed for clients who are currently in treatment for cancer or who have gone through cancer treatments. Each session is carefully designed, with feedback from your primary care physician, to help relax and support the body as you are on this journey or to help recover after treatment has ended.  Note: if you are actively in treatment for cancer, a physician's note is required prior to your first session. Please also fill out the "Oncology Client Intake Form", which is found in the "Helpful Forms" link to the left.

Dog Massage (Back to Top)

Dog (or Canine) Massage?  Did you know that dogs love to get massage therapy as much as we do?  It is extremely beneficial for your special pet to receive massage, not only for relaxation but especially if they are recovering from an injury or have "aches and pains" as they age.  Techniques used are similar to their human companions; gliding, kneading, and circular friction as well as ice and heat may also be used on dogs. Jenifer completed a 100 hour certification course at the Boulder College of Massage Therapy in order to offer this modality to your furry friend.

Canine massage is also a great way to celebrate your dog's birthday or to give as a gift certificate to your favorite dog or dog lover!

Abundant Life Massage is happy to provide therapeutic massage to you at your home provided the following criteria are met:

1.  A massage table is provided for us. We do not transport tables or we need a massage after your massage!
2.  A chair or an adjustable stool and a music source are available. We can provide these, if necessary, as long as we are informed prior to your massage.
3.  A place in your home/lanai/pool deck large enough for the therapist to comfortably walk around the table.
